Originally from Northern California, Julia earned her Bachelors of Arts from Barnard College and a Masters of Architecture from Columbia University in New York City. She then continued in academia by teaching architecture and interior design studios at the Graduate School of Architecture, Preservation and Planning at Columbia University, New York Institute of Technology, and the School for Constructed Environments at Parsons School of Design, and is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture at the University of Southern California. The studio builds upon this academic experience, her vast international travel, long-time relationship with artists and contemporary art, and sees each creative project as an opportunity to provide education, pursue research, and empower her clients in seeing their vision through to completion.

JAGA’s approach to design is collaborative, inspiring, and energizing. Each project is unique and is based on the clients requirements and desires for how they want experience their home. Often designing from the inside out; the interior layout and curated living experiences guide the formation of sculptural volumes and carve out interior views to vistas beyond. Sketches, models, and renderings enable clients to discover and co-create with our studio.

Working directly onsite during many construction projects, our team has the professional know-how, project management savvy, and the right connections between landscapers, designers, craftsman, engineers, and specialty makers to bring great teams together to fulfill on projects that both look good and make you feel good. Impacting you, your family, your community, and the environment in a positive way.

We are currently open to taking on new construction, addition, and interior design commissions. JAGA is registered to practice Architecture in the State of California and New York. Gallagher is on the Board of Directors for AIA Los Angeles, and is the 2024-2025 California Representative for AIA LA.
